Weir VFD Requirements

Weir Volunteer Fire Department is always in need of new members who wish to actively participate as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, or in a non-operational capacity in an administrative capacity.

18 years of age or older
Live within 15 minutes from the Weir Volunteer Fire Department
High school graduate or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Ability to carry out responsibilities and provide good communications in a calm, positive and professional manner under emergency conditions
Pass background check

Upon successful completion and verification of all the above, you will have a recruitment committee interview to get a better understanding of training necessary for active participation within the Weir Volunteer Fire Department.

You will also be given a copy of the department’s policy manual, which outlines the guidelines that need to be met as a member of the department.
