ESD 6 Fire-Rescue
The Weir Fire Department started with one engine, one brush truck, and 12 members. Just like the fire service in general, the WVFD has evolved. Today the department boosts nine total pieces of apparatus, two engines, three brush trucks, one tender (portable water carrier) , one rescue truck, two command vehicles, and a new name: Williamson County ESD 6 Fire-Rescue.

Outdoor Burning
Outdoor burning must be attended at all times. There must be a readily accessible water source for extinguishment, such as a garden hose connected to a water source. All outdoor burning MUST be extinguished before dark.
Permits are not required within ESD6 but you must notify Williamson County dispatch before you burn. Please notify us at: 512-864-8282

Tax rates fy2025/2026
Notice of Tax Rate
Williamson County ESD No.6 adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate;
The tax rate is 10 cents per every $100. Example of home valued at $300,000 would be paying $300 annually for maintenance and operations of the district.
